It premiered Misanthrope the first English-language police thriller Damian Szifronthe director of the well-known Argentine series The Simulators. This film was the return to the big screen for the film director after 10 years and by the hand of great Hollywood stars such as Shailene Woodley and Ben Mendelsohn.
The avant premiere in Buenos Aires was attended by great friends and colleagues of Damián Szifron such as the members of Los Simuladores: Diego Peretti, Federico D’Elia, Martín Seefeld, Jorge D’Elia and Alejandro Fiore.
Renowned figures such as Víctor Bo and Armando Bo, Alejandro Lerner, Gloria Carra, César Bordón, Diego Velazquez, Arturo Puig, Selva Alemán, Esteban Meloni, Paloma Contreras, Verónica Linás, Santiago Korovsky and Paula Marulli also attended.
Damián Szifron arrived at the event accompanied by María Marull and her daughters, who were very proud of their father’s latest work, which can be viewed throughout the world through all commercial movie theaters.

What Misanthrope is about, the new film directed by Damián Szifron
Diamond Films proudly announced the premiere in all Latin American theaters of Misántropo, a film production of North American origin shot by the Argentine Damien Szifron.
The creator of the mythical series The Simulators and film director wild tales, nominated for an Oscar, winner of the Bafta and the highest-grossing national film in history, she is also the author of the script together with the British Jonathan Wakeham.
Shailene Woodley, who participated in series and movies like, Big Little Lies, The Fault in Our Stars, The Divergent Seriesstars in this unrelenting thriller alongside Ben Mendelsohn.
The direction of photography was also the work of an Argentine, Javier Juliá, who has gained notoriety in recent years for his work in Wild Tales and Argentina, 1985. The original soundtrack bears the signature of the legendary Carter Burwell, author of the music for all the Coen Brothers films, including Barton Fink, Fargo, The Big Lebowski and the Oscar winner for best picture No place for wimps.
Misanthrope begins his story in Baltimore, on New Year’s Eve. A ferocious attack produced by a single man leaves a balance of 29 dead and not a single clue. Eleanor Falco (Shailene Woodley), a withdrawn but talented low-ranking policewoman, is recruited by FBI Special Agent Geoffrey Lammark (Ben Mendelsohn) to join the team in charge of identifying and capturing the murderer of such a massacre.
