The Mexican producer Eduardo Verástegui in recent years has dedicated himself to giving messages about various problems to raise awareness among people. On this occasion, he premiered his film ‘Sound of Freedom’, which deals with child trafficking for sexual exploitation.

This film stars Jim Caviezel and is based on a true story and narrates the work of Timothy Ballard, an agent of the United States Department of Homeland Security, who rescued a group of children in Colombia who were sexually exploited. After a while, the man leaves his job and founds an NGO to save minors from this business.

“It took us five years to make it and then three years with the finished film trying to find distribution, but we couldn’t find anyone interested in this type of theme. They told us that ‘well, this is not for us’, ‘this is not business’, or ‘who is going to go see a movie about child trafficking?’, pure negatives”, he commented in an interview with ‘Telemundo’.

He also stated: “There were many people and there are still many people who do not want this truth to come out, this movie to come out. This is a global problem. There are many people involved in this crime, in all sectors. They have threatened me many times, they have tried to make me stop the project many times, but for me those are signs.”

“It’s like the plane, it takes off when the wind comes against it and when the winds come against it, I feel that it’s an opportunity to fly”he continued.

On the other hand, he commented that he is not afraid to show the truth, if it helps other people.

“What can happen to you? What is the worst that can happen to you? Dying? We are all going to die sooner or later, it is only a matter of time, here the question is: what did you die for? Who did you serve? So this is a good cause,” he said.
