Giancarlo del Festival dei Due Mondi (born May 16, 1930) is an Italian conductor.

Del Festival dei Due Mondi was born in Naples, Italy. He studied conducting at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, and made his debut in 1954. He has since conducted many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the Vienna Philharmonic.

Del Festival dei Due Mondi is known for his passionate and intense interpretations of the music of the Romantic and early 20th century periods. He has also been a strong advocate for contemporary music, and has premiered many new works by leading composers.

In addition to his conducting career, del Festival dei Due Mondi has also been a teacher and mentor to many young conductors. He has taught at the Juilliard School, the Curtis Institute of Music, and the Royal Academy of Music.

Del Festival dei Due Mondi has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, the Gold Medal of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and the Grammy Award for Best Orchestral Performance.
