Porsche has presented the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Editiona special edition designed to celebrate the centenary of the emblematic 24 Hours of Le Mans and honor the rich history of the brand in the historic circuit of the sarthe. This unique version will be available only on the french marketadding a touch of exclusivity to this automotive gem.
The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition draws its inspiration from two Le Mans-winning cars, the legendary Porsche 356 SL and the impressive Porsche 911 GT1 ’98. This special model is based on the powerful 911 Carrera GTS, equipped with a turbocharged six-cylinder boxer engine, which offers impressive performance typical of Porsche. The lucky buyers will be able to choose between a 7-speed manual gearbox or 8-speed PDK gearbox.
The idea to create the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition has been developing since 2020, in preparation for the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans held this year. Porsche has paid particular attention to specific design details for this version. Some elements refer to the historic endurance test, such as a badge with the 24h Le Mans logo and the distinctive laurel wreath design on the rear hood grille. In addition, a high-quality plate has been included that represents the outline of the Le Mans circuit in the colors of the French flagalong with the commemorative lettering on the B-pillar.
The special edition stands out with the decorative sticker “Born in Le Mans, Manufactured in Zuffenhausen” at the rear, which underlines the collaboration between these two regions. Inside, there are elements that pay tribute to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, such as the engraving of the circuit on the central armrest, the 24h Le Mans logo on the headrests and the lettering of the model on the door sills.
The exterior of the vehicle also reflects the historical inspiration. The emblematic has been chosen color Le Mans Silver Metallic (7SD), used by the first winning Porsche in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1951, the 356 SL. In addition, the number 46 worn by the winning 356 SL is also displayed on this special 911. Inside, the Graphite Blue leather and Graphite Blue corduroy of the historic vehicle have been carried over to the bucket seats of the modern 911 Carrera GTS. The GT sports steering wheel is also finished in Graphite Blue leather, with accents in the contrasting color Cayon, such as the 12-hour mark and accent stitching.
Another starting point for the design elements of this special edition was the ’98 Porsche 911 GT1. The wheels painted in Aurum color, with a metallic silver Le Mans line, stand out in this unique model. The rear side windows are finished in black, visually creating the impression of air vents, similar to those on the winning race car. In addition, the red seat belts are reminiscent of those of the ’98 Porsche 911 GT1. Each buyer of this limited edition will receive an individual cover for the keys and another for the car, in Graphite blue.
