According to reports, a SpaceX employee was hospitalized with a skull fracture after performing checks on a rocket engine at the company’s facility in Hawthorne and hit his head, leaving him in a coma for two months.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration reported that on January 18, an integration technician was “performing an air pressure check on the Raptor V2 engine.” The final step was “performed for the first time using an automated program as opposed to the usual manual methods used in previous operations,” the report said.
