In the last few hours, a piece of news shocked the entire world: the renowned platform Twitter changed its historic bird logo to an “X”. This was a decision of its current owner, Elon Muskwho wants to turn X.com into a platform that goes beyond a social network and that in the future ends up with the name of Twitter.

She was the executive director of TwitterLinda Yaccarino, who assured in a message on the social network that “X is the future state of unlimited interactivity”. In addition, he detailed that in the near future it will include audio, video, instant messaging, payments, and the buying and selling of “goods, services, and opportunities” that will be “powered by artificial intelligence.”

In addition, he added: “For years, fans and critics alike have pushed Twitter to dream bigger, innovate faster and reach our great potential. X will do that and more.”

All the changes they made to Twitter since the arrival of Elon Musk

Since this week, one of the most recognized logos worldwide has changed visually and this has generated great commotion among users. Elon Musk, who acquired the social network for $44 billion last November, laid off about three-quarters of the staff at Twitterdelisted the company and removed the previous administration’s official account verification system in exchange for an $8 payment process.

On the other hand, changes were also made to the content, with political implications, since Musk returned to the network to accept profiles that had been banned for their hate messages or misinformationamong other measures.

However, all these modifications scared the brands that advertise online, which has cost the company a significant drop in advertising revenue. These measures can also cost you the disaffection of some users.

In the midst of this renewal of Twitter, Goalthe parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, which also changed names last year, launched this month Threadsa very similar social network.

What will happen to the “tweets”

After Twitter’s design change, one of the most widely read questions online was: “What will the tweets be called now?” To which Elon Musk replied “x’s”. In April, Twitter ceased to be an independent company after merging with the new company X Corp.

Musk has an obsession with the letter X: X.com was the original name of the payment platform PayPal that he founded; is in your company name SpaceX; in the name of one of the Tesla models; in the name of his artificial intelligence company, xAl, and even forms part of the name of one of his children, X Æ A-12.
