After six years of relationship, the singer Ricky Martin and the artist Jwan Yosef decided to end their marriage.
“We have decided to end our marriage with love, respect and dignity, for our children and honoring what we have experienced as a couple in these wonderful years,” they published in a statement.
And according to People magazine, Martin would be seeking joint custody of the two children that came in their surrogate relationship: Lucia, four years old, and Renn, three.

Martin is the single father of the 14-year-old twins Matteo and Valentino, who also arrived as a surrogate.
According to E! News, “apparently this week the Puerto Rican filed court papers for joint physical and legal custody of the children and is fully willing to pay spousal support to the ex-partner: he still has to determine the full nature and extent of each party’s separate property assets and obligations, as set forth in the terms of your prenuptial agreement”.

So far, Yosef’s position on the custody of the children is not known.
