Young woman was left in a vegetative state after being thrown from a third floor by her boyfriend – People – Culture

Leonor Uribe Sandoval is a 19-year-old girl who is in a vegetative state in a hospital in Tlalnepantla, Mexico, after her boyfriend threw her from a third floor on July 9, 2022. To this day, the family continues to demand the capture of her ex-boyfriend, Carlos Gerardo Hernández Osorio, 30 years old.

The incident occurred after they had both gone out to a party. Upon arriving at the house, Carlos Gerardo Hernández hit and threw the young woman from a third floor. As a consequence of the attack, Leonor Uribe suffered multiple fractures, including skull, jaw, and femur, as well as blunt trauma to the abdomen and bilateral pneumothorax, which implies the presence of air in the lungs.

According to the newspaper El Heraldo de MéxicoLeonor has been hospitalized for almost a year, struggling to survive. For their part, the young woman’s family has not ceased in their fight for justice, because despite the fact that there is a corresponding complaint before the authorities of the Prosecutor’s Office, nothing has happened to the person responsible.

Since that day, the life of Leonor and her family has been drastically transformed, since caring for a person in a vegetative state requires financial resources, dedication and constant emotional support.

The young woman’s relatives have had to adapt to this new reality, in which they constantly seek specialized medical attention and expensive treatments to try to improve their quality of life.
